Modeling Functions: Progressions and Practices (Summer 2016)

This three day training will be an in-depth look at functions and how they are developed in the Common Core. Participants in this training will:
·      Learn new ways to represent and think about all kinds of functions: linear, exponential, quadratic, piece-wise, logarithmic, trigonometric,            and more. Tasks that connect with functions progressions across all Secondary Mathematics Standards will be shared.
·      Experience for yourself new ways of teaching functions that builds a richer, more powerful understanding for students.
·      Experience how the Standards for Mathematical Practice are seamlessly embedded in every lesson, building confidence and competency in          students. As they engage with tasks throughout a progression of a learning cycle of the Comprehensive Mathematics Framework.
