Transformational Geometry: Progressions and Practices (Summer 2017)

This two day training will be an in-depth look at transformational geometry and how the geometry strand is developed in the Common Core Standards for High School Mathematics. Participants in this training will:
·      Experience tasks that demonstrate how definitions of transformations can be developed and refined such that they can become
       foundational for proof.
·      Focus on the progression within the Geometry Standards and make rich connections between transformations, constructions, quadrilateral          symmetry and proof.
·      Experience tasks from all high school grade levels such that you can share them with your students and help them to develop a richer more        powerful understanding of geometry
·      Experience how the Standards for Mathematical Practice are seamlessly embedded in every lesson, building confidence and competency in          students. As they engage with tasks throughout a progression of a learning cycle of the Comprehensive Mathematics Framework.
